My legal name is Alicia Carol, but there happen to be other singers with my same name. My parents call me Ace and so my performing name is AC, pronounced Ace. I started singing very young, at the age of 4, and I have been told I would sing anywhere there was a stage or table. Then, my parents divorced, and my singing became a more personal endeavor that brought me secret joy. One of my favorite memories is singing to the horses out in the pasture. They sure loved the attention, and I needed unconditional love and support. In High School, I sang in a Choir and Show Choir. But when I auditioned for the musical Guys and Dolls and landed the lead, I realized other people thought I had a good voice. I received my Bachelor's in Vocal Performance and a minor in Theater and decided to perform in musicals and plays all over the United States. I found myself in New York at Circle in the Square to work on my acting and singing. That is when I started singing in rhythm and blues bands and loved it.

 

I love creating melodies and lyrics to express how I am feeling. I find great joy in performing our music and sharing it with others. It is also fun just hearing a piece of Jerry’s music and letting the song show me what it wants to become. Creating and singing that is me, AC.
